This itinerary assumes you arrive by ferry in the morning or early afternoon of Day 1, and rent a scooter as soon as you check in — nearly everything below is easiest to reach on your own wheels rather than waiting for tricycles.
Day 1: Arrival, Settle In, Sunset
Spend the first afternoon easing in rather than rushing to sightsee. Check into your accommodation, rent a scooter if you haven't already arranged one, and take a slow walk along whichever beach you're staying near. Save your energy for a proper sunset — the west-facing coast is best for this — followed by dinner. If you're staying with us, this is exactly the kind of afternoon our beach bar and ocean-view restaurant are built for.
Day 2: Waterfalls, Cliffs and the Fish Spa
Start early — Cambugahay Falls gets crowded with tour groups by mid-morning, and the light is better for photos before 9am anyway. After the falls, head to the old Balete Tree near Lazi for the natural fish spa. In the afternoon, drive to Salagdoong Beach — swim, relax on the sand, and jump from the cliff platforms if you're up for it. This is the most active day of the three, so pace yourself with a proper lunch stop in between.
Day 3: History, Caves and a Slow Beach Afternoon
Spend the morning at Lazi Church and its adjoining convent — one of the most striking pieces of Spanish colonial architecture in the Visayas, and worth an unhurried walk-through. From there, choose your own pace: a guided trip through Cantabon Cave if you want one more adventure, or head straight to a quieter beach like Paliton for a relaxed final afternoon. If your ferry departs the next morning, use this evening to pack and confirm your departure time rather than planning anything ambitious.
If You Have a 4th Day
Add a private boat tour — snorkeling stops and hidden coves that aren't reachable by road — or spend a slower morning at Tulapos Marine Sanctuary or Capilay Spring Park before your ferry out. A 4th day is really about subtracting the rush from Day 2 rather than adding more stops.
Tips for Making This Itinerary Work
- Rent your scooter the moment you check in — don't wait until Day 2 morning.
- Start Day 2 as early as you can manage; the falls and cliffs are dramatically less crowded before 9am.
- Keep your departure day flexible if possible — ferries can shift with weather, especially outside the dry season.
- Bring cash for entrance fees, guides, and roadside food stops — cards aren't widely accepted outside resorts.
