Siquijor is generally an affordable island to visit by Philippine standards, but "affordable" covers a wide range depending on how you travel. Below is a rough breakdown by category, followed by sample daily budgets for three different travel styles. Prices for ferries, food stalls and general services shift over time and by season, so treat the ranges here as planning estimates rather than fixed quotes — but our own resort's rates are exactly what we charge, listed as-is.
Accommodation
This is where your budget will vary the most. Simple guesthouses and backpacker inns sit at the low end, mid-range beach cottages and small resorts in the middle, and boutique or design-forward properties — like ours — at the top. Alien Beach Club's Space House Capsules start at ₱5,000 per night, with a 2-night minimum stay (so ₱10,000 for the shortest possible booking).
Food
A meal at a local carinderia (small eatery) or street stall is inexpensive; sit-down restaurant meals and resort dining cost more, especially anything with imported ingredients or ocean-view seating. If you're staying with us, our own kitchen runs a full menu — breakfast plates, a lunch and dinner menu with local and international dishes, and a drinks list that includes everything from fresh fruit shakes to island cocktails. See our full guide to eating in Siquijor for more.
Getting Around
Renting a scooter is the standard way to see the island and one of the better value items in any Siquijor budget — a full day of independent exploring for a fraction of what a private driver would cost. We rent scooters directly at the resort for ₱500/day or ₱2,500/week.
| Item | Alien Beach Club Rate |
|---|---|
| Scooter rental | ₱500/day · ₱2,500/week |
| Private boat tour (2–6 people) | ₱4,000/day |
| Tennis court | ₱100/hour |
| Tennis coach | ₱500/hour |
| Owner's Table private dinner | ₱700/person (excl. drinks) |
Activities
Most of Siquijor's natural attractions — waterfalls, beaches, the balete tree fish spa — charge only a small local entrance or environmental fee, if anything. Guided experiences like cave spelunking or boat tours cost more, since you're paying for a guide and equipment rather than just entry.
Ferry Costs
Fast ferry crossings from Dumaguete to Siquijor are inexpensive relative to most other travel costs on a Philippine trip — generally the cheapest line item in your whole itinerary. Slower roro ferries cost even less if you're not in a hurry. See our guide to getting to Siquijor for the full route breakdown.
Sample Daily Budgets
Backpacker
Budget guesthouse, local eateries, scooter rental split with a travel companion, and free or low-cost natural attractions. The leanest way to experience the island.
Mid-Range
A private room with air conditioning, a mix of local and restaurant meals, your own scooter rental, and one or two paid activities like a guided cave tour or boat trip.
Boutique / Design Stay
A stay at a distinctive property like Alien Beach Club (₱5,000+/night), resort dining for most meals, your own scooter, and at least one private experience like a boat tour or the Owner's Table dinner. This is the tier we're built for — comfort and design without needing to leave the resort to find a good meal or a beautiful view.
Ways to Save
- Travel outside December–February to avoid peak-season pricing on ferries and accommodation.
- Split a scooter and boat tour cost with travel companions — both are priced per rental, not per person.
- Eat at least some meals at local eateries rather than resort restaurants exclusively.
- Book activities directly with your resort rather than through third-party tour desks, which often add a markup.
